News Today: Fox & Friends' 'Coverage' of the Manafort Indictment Was Downright Laughable

Gambar
Steve Doocy & company gave the story all of 20 minutes Monday. Fox & Friends  devoted less than 20 minutes to the news that special counsel Robert Mueller was filing charges against two of President Donald Trump’s top campaign aides, while other cable news morning shows spent over an hour on the story this morning. On October 30, a federal grand jury  indicted  Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chief, and Rick Gates, Manafort’s  longtime business associate  who also served as his deputy on the Trump campaign, as part of Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. The  indictment  includes 12 counts, including conspiracy against the United States and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign principal. The Daily Beast  called  the indictments “stunning.” After the news of the indictment came out shortly before 8 a.m., MSNBC’s  Morning Joe  and CNN’s  New Day stayed on the story...

breaking News: Trick Or Treat! - News Paper

Grrr. The Trump team is distancing themselves from Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and an another entity who just plead guilty to the Russian investigation. The Robert Mueller investigation has knocked the inept leader off of his agenda. When the inept leader fired James Comey, then FBI director in a public spat, the former had a memo of details showing that something is afoot. Now as you know, conservatives are obsessed with Hillary Clinton. They are trying to drag her name into this by accusing her of the purchase of a commissioned deal of nuclear energy. The right's allegations don't meet up with what happened. A conservative writer named John Solomon was writing this piece about how the U.S. government sanctioned the Uranium One deal under the Barack Obama term. This piece is disputed and yet conservatives are pushing Congress to investigate it. Roger Stone, Jr. is banned from Twitter. The controversial conservative agitator was on this racially and homophobic ran...

Breaking News: I’m a black man who moved to the Deep South. Here’s what it’s teaching me about race. - News Paper

Gambar
The South represents slavery and bigotry. Living here has emboldened me like nowhere else I've been before. I almost swerved off the road the first time I saw cotton in full bloom. I had seen the dull green cotton plants crawling toward the sky through the summer months. Then, practically overnight, the cotton bolls exploded to reveal their fluffy prize. Nothing moves fast in the South — except when it does. My wife’s grandmother spent some of her childhood days picking cotton. She described to me how the plant grudgingly yielded its prize, how the spiny shell would scrape open her fingers. Cotton farming is all automated now. Huge machines comb the plants for their fibrous cotton centers. The cotton gets smashed into huge rectangular bales that are loaded onto flatbed trucks and shipped off for processing. But when those fields are blooming you can’t help but picture slaves dressed in rags, hunched over in the oppressive heat, their hands scarred from years of labor. The fir...

Breaking News: How Kevin Spacey’s coming out fuels a dangerous myth about gay men and pedophilia - News Paper

Gambar
Spacey’s response to allegations of sexual misconduct against a minor could easily be misconstrued and weaponized. In the earliest hours of Monday morning, actor Kevin Spacey responded to Anthony Rapp’s allegations of assault against him by saying he does not recall the encounter, but that, if it happened, he apologizes for “what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior” — and then, in a turn, used his statement to come out as gay. “This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life,” Spacey wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. “I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behavior.” http://pic.twitter.com/X6ybi5atr5 — Kevin Spacey (@KevinSpacey) October 30, 2017 Spacey’s sexuality has been the topic of tabloid gossip and rumors for years . Breaking News: Watch a former Trump aide say incriminating things about Russia on live TV - News Paper

Gambar
Why did he do that? It’s probably not a good idea to talk to the press while under federal investigation for a potential crime. Former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page just showed why. On Monday morning, Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted and arrested former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort and his associate Rick Gates on counts of tax fraud and money laundering. Soon after, the special counsel revealed that a low-level campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos , had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russians linked to the Kremlin. So yesterday was maybe not the best day for a former Trump campaign staffer to speak openly about his time during the election while the investigation heats up. Enter Page, who decided it was a good idea to speak to MSNBC’s Chris Hayes that same evening. And, predictably, he ended up revealing some potentially incriminating information. Page said he was “probably” on emails with Papadopoulos Hayes asked Ca...

ELI5: If I have an older, yet up-to-date Anti Virus, does it defend me from the same viruses as its 2017 version?

If, for example, I have AVG's 2015 version and its fully updated, does it defend me from the same viruses as the 2017 version of AVG? I understand the 2017 version might have more FEATURES, but in terms of Virus signatures and "red flag" moves, wouldn't they be the same?

GPU acting weird as f*ck

Hey guys. Yesterday I noticed that if I really max out a game, I only get 30fps, with 30-40% GPU utilization. I'm sure it's not a CPU bottleneck, cause the CPU is only utilized at 10-20%. I changed the Nvidia power setting to "prefer maximum performance" (it was on optimal), and it got even weirder. Without doing anything really, my GPU's clockspeed is high, so is the temperatures. When playing a game on max settings with that power setting, I have the same thing. http://ift.tt/2iN8LRc I'm testing it with Minecraft, yes, with shaders cause it's really demanding, and this game launches the fastest. Vsync is turned to 'Fast', because if it is off, my screen is tearing. (it is 60hz) Latest nvidia drivers. (388.13) EVGA GTX 1070 SC ACX 3.0. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: changed to adaptive power, same thing in games, except my idle temps are ok. 'Game mode' on or off, same thing. Submitted October 31, 2017 at 06:02PM by kotn3l h...

Breaking News: Reddit's crowdsourced playlist of beautiful songs is a thing that is not on fire and will not hurt you - News Paper

Gambar
From Kanye to Clair de Lune, Reddit's crowdsourced list of beautiful songs has it all. As you may have noticed, we’re having an intense moment (or arguably an intense couple of years). Between trying to keep up with federal grand jury indictments and celebrities being accused of sexual assault , not to mention dealing with the frenzy of a major holiday , you might need a break. If that sounds nice, you’re in luck — Reddit’s got your back, with a massive playlist curated from an enormous thread devoted to crowdsourcing the most beautiful songs ever. More than 20,000 upvotes later, Reddit’s choice for the most beautiful song might be surprising to anyone expecting a modern favorite: Readers went for Debussy’s famous soft piano nocturne “Clair de Lune.” (That’s French for “moonlight.”) Other top vote getters included Louis Armstrong’s “Wonderful World,” Kermit the Frog’s “Rainbow Connection,” and various classical pieces, from Mozart’s Requiem to Barber’s famous Adagio for S...

News Today: Palestinian Jihad & Hamas lose 11 men in IDF terror tunnel blast which also sent a political message - Hot News

Gambar
To ward off demands from Washington, Cairo and Riyadh to back the Palestinian unity effort, Netanyahu chose to show them what was really going on in Gaza. The IDF and Israeli intelligence certainly knew a terrorist tunnel was being dug in the Gaza Strip near Khan Younes some weeks ago. But they waited until it crossed over and had snaked almost a kilometer inside Israel up to a point near Kissufim before blowing it up on Monday, Oct. 30. The IDF must also have known that Jihad Islami, which Iran established as its Palestinian arm, was building it, rather than Hamas. The Jihadis threatened retaliation after reporting 11 of their men killed, including two top commanders, and two Hamas operatives, and 15 were injured – most of them mortally. Israel and Hamas are both on high alert for potential escalation. Ahead of the operation, Israel positioned an Iron Dome battery outside the Gaza Strip in case it prompted rocket fire in reprisal. The army also closed off parts of the border regio...

Breaking News: My idea for a really cool slasher movie - News Paper

Gambar
I must admit I never got into those slasher movies. Seems to me they’re all the same story. The popular kids who were too good to ever go out with you in high school all frolic off to a cabin for some holiday and some disfigured skeesix in a goalie’s mask terrorizes and one-by-one graphically slices them up. Yes, it’s grizzly and horrible but isn’t that sorta what they deserve? Would it kill them to agree to dance with us just once?? Then there’s a sequel where the ones that survived go BACK to the cabin. You’d think maybe they’d hit Miami Beach the next winter break instead? And there’s always the backstory explaining how the psychopath became a killer…such as he was a bed wetter or flunked out of Benhinana Chef school. I have what I believe is a great idea for a slasher movie. I’m sharing it because I’ve had it registered (in other words, you can’t steal it!!!). But it seems to me the key to this genre is creating a truly terrifying slasher. My idea is to hire Gordon from SESAM...

News Today: Saudi Arabia behind US pressure on Israel to nix Jerusalem bill? - Hot News

Gambar
The Saudi government was instrumental in lobbying the Trump administration to pressure Israel to shelve legislation aimed at preserving Jerusalem’s Jewish majority by annexing surrounding towns in Judea and Samaria, a Saudi newspaper has claimed.   According to are report carried by   Al-Watan , the US requested that Israel not push the law after Saudi officials demanded the Trump administration take action against the “Greater Jerusalem Law” proposed by Israeli Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz.   Under the original draft of the proposed law , 19 Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria would be annexed to the capital, adding some 150,000 Jews to Jerusalem’s population and extending Israeli sovereignty over the communities.   On Friday , a State Department spokeswoman declined to condemn the bill, saying it involved “internal matters I wouldn’t want to comment on.”   But   on Saturday night , Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who had previously backed...

News Today: Iran Holds Air Force Drill in Heart of its Nuclear Region - Hot News

Gambar
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s official IRNA news agency says the Iranian air force is holding its annual military exercise to show off its ability to safeguard the country’s airspace. The drill is taking place near the central city of Isfahan, a region that is home to the country’s key nuclear facilities, including the Natanz uranium enrichment plant. Isfahan also has an air base that played a major role during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s. The military spokesman for the two-day drill, Gen. Masoud Rouzkhosh, says it aims to improve and update capabilities of the air force, as well as display Iran’s military power. He says fighter jets, bombers and drones will be tested during the drill near Isfahan, about some 400 kilometers, or 250 miles, south of the capital, Tehran. from PROPHECY HEADLINES.com http://ift.tt/2gXp3X7 News Today: Iran Holds Air Force Drill in Heart of its Nuclear Region - Tennis News

News Today: Jared Kushner Took Unannounced Mystery Trip to Saudi Arabia - Hot News

Gambar
White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner spent much of last week on a mysterious, unannounced trip to Saudi Arabia — a sign that Kushner is still playing a key, albeit unclear role in administration efforts to broker peace in the Middle East. According to Politico, Kushner   left   the U.S. on Wednesday and was accompanied by deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt. Greenblatt continued the trip by himself, traveling to Jordan, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. Kushner returned to the U.S. Saturday. Curiously, the White House did not tell Politico who Kushner met with, or apparently what was discussed. The White House official told Politico: The Senior Advisor to the President, the Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy, and the Special Representative for International Negotiations recently returned from Saudi Arabia. The Senior Advisor has also been in frequent contact with officials from Israel, the Palestinian Authorit...

Breaking News: October was an amazing month for new music. Here are 9 standout releases. - News Paper

Gambar
It’s finally autumn! Leaves are falling, temps are dropping, and hopefully your Halloween costume went off without a hitch. But more importantly, it’s time for fall playlists — and October saw a bunch of great new songs to add to your autumnal leaf-crunching mixtape. From an unexpected intercontinental collaboration to unreleased tracks from one of 2015’s best albums, this month was full of excellent new releases. Kurt and Courtney (yes, they’re aware they have famous names) I never expected that Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett would join forces, but now that their collaboration album Lotta Sea Lice exists, I can’t remember a world before they were a pair. Australian rocker Barnett and Philadelphia guitarist Vile, known for his solo albums and for co-creating the War on Drugs, meld perfectly — their styles are shockingly similar. These long-haired lazy-rock artists balance each other out too. Barnett’s singsong voice lifts the gloomy Vile out of the darkness; Vile’s slower cadenc...

News Today: North Korea nuclear base COLLAPSES ‘killing at least 200 people’ amid fears of massive radioactive leak - Hot News

Gambar
The disaster has prompted fears of a massive radioactive leak which could spark a Chernobyl- or Fukushima-style disaster. A North Korean official said the collapse happened during the construction of an underground tunnel, South Korea’s   Yonhap   news agency reports. Some 100 people are said to have been trapped by the initial tunnel collapse, with a further 100 lost in a second collapse during a rescue operation, Asahi reported Tuesday. Lee Eugene, a spokeswoman at South Korea's unification ministry, said: "We are aware of the report but do not know anything about it." The accident is believed to have been   caused by Kim Joing-un’s sixth nuclear test on March 3   which weakened the mountain, according to the report. It was reported earlier this year that   the mountain under which the base is believed to be hidden was at risk of collapsing and leaking radiation   into the region. Experts said if the peak crumbles, clouds of radioactive dust and gas...

News Today: Beijing seen poised for fresh South China Sea assertiveness - Hot News

Gambar
HONG KONG/BEIJING (Reuters) - China has quietly undertaken more construction and reclamation in the South China Sea, recent satellite images show, and is likely to more powerfully reassert its claims over the waterway soon, regional diplomats and military officers say. With global attention focused on North Korea and Beijing engrossed in its Party Congress, tensions in the South China Sea have slipped from the headlines in recent months. But with none of the underlying disputes resolved and new images reviewed by Reuters showing China continuing to develop facilities on North and Tree islands in the contested Paracel islands, experts say the vital trade route remains a global flashpoint. Some expect China to land its first deployments of jet fighters onto its runways in the Spratly islands in coming months, while regional military officers say it is already using the new facilities to expand naval and coast guard deployments deep into Southeast Asia. "They've built these e...
